Yes I know – what follows is probably not what you expected!
Today we got a car for Aditya – that is his independence – he can go anywhere by himself now!
It was long struggle for him – mainly to get driver’s license. He had to attempt the driving test three (yes that’s 3 times) before he could finally get the license. He finally got it on 2nd March 2016.
The struggle that then followed was from whether to buy a car (he of course wanted it!) to when to get it – to finally which car?
After doing a lot of research (frustrating!) we found a Toyota Corolla (with a local dealer) that sounded like a really good deal. We took a test drive and it seemed pretty good (though it was over 140,000 miles). We almost finalized everything and came back to the car to check the tyres and ….
There were spots on the hood where color had come-off on the hood. Then we checked the car and found other spots where color had come-off. The dealer offered to fix some of these but we walked out of that deal.
Aditya’s friend in college (Luke) told him that his father wanted to sell his car which is what we finally bought – this is a Ford Focus (2001, 98000 miles).
